Day 30

Final tally for the month.... 10 lbs and 13.5 inches. (it was 11 lbs yesterday but went up by 1 overnight.)

It's definitely much harder to follow when H and I are both on days off together and are mostly hanging out at home bc I want to have a meal with him rather than have him eat while I have a shake. Admittedly yesterday I had 2 meals and just one shake, but I did my best to keep the calories still in the 1300 range. Yesterday I went over by about 300 calories. I also haven't been in the gym on days off. Also, I know I'm eating more than the program recommends but there is NO way I'm going to be happy/satisfied having no more than 40-75 calories as "snacks" twice a day so I will continue as I've been doing with the healthy snacks in the 75-150 range supplemented with the isasnacks and isadelights.

I am going to continue the program... if I can lose even 10lbs a month I'll be very happy with that. The cleanse days seem to make the most difference so I'm planning to continue doing them on my changeover for now as I find that quite simple and it's a modification that seems to be working reasonably well for me.

Not sure that I'll continue the blog as I'm not sure it's worked out to be much of a tool for other isagenners but will see....

Would still love to hear how other people are making out on the program.

Cheers!

Day 25

Managed to hit the 10 lb mark today!! I had adjusted my goal to be 10 lbs by month end so I am incredibly happy that I've made it there 6 days before month end. Hopefully the number stays down. Measurements still don't seem to be changing though, which still strikes me as very odd.
I did another cleanse overnight - 3 drinks - don't feel shaky today. Hoping to increase to 4 drinks in the next week or two. Waiting to see my holistic practitioner on Feb 4th for some more direction in that regard.
Caloric intake is under 1300 cals per day, on average. yesterday i was up for 21 hrs so I had 1500 cals just cause I was awake longer.

Day 21

3 weeks in and i've gone back up a pound. the measurements don't appear to be coming down, either, although my clothes are fitting differently/better. it makes no sense.
i'm eating 1100-1500 cals per day, leaning more toward the 1100-1300 end of the spectrum. math says at 1250 cals/day i should be losing 2 lbs /week but i'm not.
i have been following the plan faithfully.. maybe i'm not eating enough?
also added gym time this last week and was cycling 12 miles/day in 3 segments 4 days in a row.
the program really isn't that difficult to follow.. which is a good thing otherwise i'd probably pull the plug. my autoship is due to go out in a week for next months supply and i'll carry on and see how it goes.

Day 18

Still frustrated. I'm down 7 lbs and only 6.25 inches. It's disappointing when all I hear about are how folks drop 15, 22, 30 lbs in the first month. Granted, 7 lbs is better than 5lbs and FAR better than having gained or just maintained. I am continuing on... considering I'm in my mid forties this won't be as easy for me as for the younger folks. And my weight has always been much like my own personality.... STUBBORN.

I can't say I'm experiencing any great improvement in my energy. Not really a mild improvement, even. I find I'm fairly sleepy a lot of the time. My average caloric intake for a day is 1300-1600 calories. I'm back in the gym and have been doing 8-12 miles /day on the bike at work for the past 3 days as well as some resistance training and a short stint on the elliptical.

I did a modified cleanse overnight 2 days ago and had 3 of the drinks over a 12 hr period while I was sleeping. I think that's what caused the shift of another lb or 2 cause I'd been pretty much stuck at the 5 lb mark.

Anyway.... that's where I'm at. Not entirely down on the product, just not getting the results I'd expected and hoped for.

Day 9 - trying to stay positive

well, i'm stuck at the 4-5lbs loss mark so i'm a bit disappointed. the scale went back up 1 lb, then down...and keeps going up and down in that area. my inches lost for the first week are just 4.75... but... thats better than an increase!!

i WAS off program last night after a rough day i imbibed at the shed in way too many shots of vodka and a slice of 'za on the way home. before that, though, i've been faithful to the program. perhaps i'm having too many "snacks"...but i'm hungry! and i know when i get too hungry i'll have blood sugar issues. and, if the program leaves me feeling famished it won't work for me. this has to be something i can live with, long term.

that being said, i'm not giving up. am having my shake as i type. perhaps, too, working 12 hr shifts makes it a bit harder bc i'm eating more in a day than someone who only works 8 hrs would due to the simple fact that i'm up longer so i pack an extra couple of snacks. also, on day shifts dinner tends to not be til 8pm and then i'm in bed shortly after. maybe i'll try having my daily meal midday on those days and a shake for dinner. see if that makes any difference.

would love to hear how everyone else is doing.... birdy...shawnee.... nudge nudge  :^D

a little bend in the road on Day 5

One of my naturopathic health care providers has pulled me off the cleanse FOR NOW. Apparently feeling this shaky, dizzy and wobbly is NOT normal and can be an indication of a high level of toxins being dumped into my system from my liver. If I don't pay attention she says there is a risk of a histamine reaction... although what that would entail I'm not quite sure. But she also mentioned that I could experience some heart flutters if I do this too fast. She says my body just isn't ready for the cleanse (and I DID jump the gun by 2 days) so I am to just do the shakes until after my appt with her on Feb 4th. Quite often she has people go 4-6 weeks on the shakes before they start the cleanse process.

So... I am now having some home made veggie and rice soup and will be back to the shakes tmrw and continue from here.

Day 5 - my first cleanse day

I decided last night that I would make today my first cleanse due to scheduling. Mixed the liquid with 16 oz of water/ice.. really wasn't bad. Then I added a bit of the Want More Energy and it became quite tasty and refreshing! No issues.
Have had 1 isasnack with 3 almonds and about to make my next cleanse drink. I'm a bit hungry but certainly not miserable or terribly uncomfortable. Mind you... I've only been up for 2.5 hrs!! LOL
Unfortunately my new order didn't arrive today, which would have meant I had some Isadelights to help me thru the day. I'm learning that the 2 day shipment time just isn't accurate...hopefully it will arrive tmrw.

I haven't been experiencing more energy yet.. but am also still dealing with a cold and figure during the first week my body is dealing with clearing toxins so I don't expect to feel great til some time next week. A bit headachy but very very minor.

1800 - not gonna lie. am feeling pretty light headed. so much so that i'm not sure i would drive. have stuck to the cleanse but when i've had my isasnacks i did have 3 almonds or 2 walnut halves with each snack. and i made a cup of herbal tea with a bit of unpasteurized, raw honey because i had the shakes enough i figured my blood sugar was off. perhaps, though, this is just how it feels on cleanse days...?
don't feel ill at all, in any way. and i'll get thru til bed time... but will sure be happy to have my shake tmrw morning!  good luck to you folks doin 2 days in a row... stay strong!

Day 4

no additional wgt loss today but that doesn't deter me. i don't expect to drop 2lbs per day!

slept most of the day. still fighting a cold. had one shake around 3pm and just had a cup of homemade soup with veg broth, organic frozen veg, a very small amount of barley and a bit of wild rice... lotsa spices.

not sure i'll get a 2nd shake into me today, but will have my accelerator with dinner instead. aiming to get up earlier tmrw and be a bit more active. will be doing my cleanse on thursday instead of friday this week.

snack and shake tips

from my good buddy dave...

Apple(organic preferred) sliced up with natural crunchy peanut butter, Wasa Rye Crackers (2-3) with natural peanut butter & half banana, cottage cheese with fresh berries & walnuts, edamame
Also, for your shakes, my favorite way to make it is... Using a Magic Bullet, fill with 1/2 water/ lots of ice, Blend well, then add 1 scoop chocolate & 1 scoop of vanilla, 2 teaspoons of Hemp Seeds (bulk store or called Isacrunch), and blend 10 seconds, its AWESOME!!!!

another tip.... take the ionix as soon as you get up, then the shake 15 mins after. take 1 accelerator with each shake and take 2 isaflush BEFORE BED.

Day 3 - Isagenix 30 day cleanse

Down another 2 lbs....
I have found that the "regimen" differs quite a lot from person to person.... meaning the rules don't seem to be hard and fast. I've discovered so many different guidelines I've just decided to kinda make my own bc this needs to be something that I can live with. I'm definitely eating more food than their idea of snacks (1/4 of an isalean bar...really??? that's considered sufficient between shakes? not for this girl! lol ). At work I had 14 pieces of maki for my dinner. Otherwise had the 2 shakes, 4 chocolate isasnacks, about 12 almonds/walnuts, pkg of oatmeal, one isalean bar, 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 flatbreads with an ounce of cheese. IMHO this ain't a tonne of food.
I know myself well enough to know that if I get too hungry I'll go off the rails so I'm making sure that doesn't happen but doing my best to make good choices.
Today I'm at home, going to the movies this aft. Won't be a problem skipping theatre treats. Will take water with some chlorophyll (nature's sunshine makes AWESOME liquid chlorophyll that tastes great - if anyone is interested in more info let me know) and some sort of a small snack. Dinner plan is maple chipotle salmon, wild rice/quinoa, bbq'd broccoli and sauteed spinach. YUMM
Being my first day off I'm not exactly sure when I'm going to fit in my 2nd shake to be honest. Don't really want to take one before bed... anyone want to share how they handle their shake day schedule when you don't get out of bed til 1 or 2 pm?

Day 2 - Isagenix 30 day cleanse

I know I've been looking online to learn about how others have found the program and the bits I've discovered have been helpful. So, I've decided to create my own and hopefully my friends that are trying it too can add comments so we can all support one another.

Day one started with a really great, full, home cooked breakie... a good 600 calories. Then I packed lunch for a 12 hr night shift but learned that premixing the shakes isn't ideal due to enzyme breakdown after 10 mins so I won't do that again... and I'd thought I was so clever with my little thermos'!  I ate more overnight than I intended to but kept it to allowable stuff. almonds/walnuts...isalean bar...a couple of really grainy flatbreads with a bit of cheese and at least 6 of the isagenix snacks (the texture is a bit dry/chalky but the flavour really isn't bad. I nibble a little at a time rather than pop the whole thing in my yap).  I've already ordered more product - slim cakes, isadelights and isabars to help with packed lunches for work.

Today I got up and started with my shake. Added a banana to help deal with bad calf cramps. For work I'm packing a couple of hard boiled eggs & some organic basalmic vinegar, small amount of almonds/walnuts, 2 flatbreads with an ounce of cheese, 6 isasnacks and will pick up some sushi for my meal. oh! and my 2nd shake.

Did 20 mins on the bike - that's the max I'm to be doing right now due to knee injury but hopefully I can increase that in a week to 30 mins/day or more.

That's about it for now... I'll try to pop online daily with a brief update so others can have an idea of what they can maybe expect.

Cheers!
